Free meditation classes
Through meditation the soul becomes
Fully aware of its evolution
In its eternal journey.
– Sri Chinmoy
About us
We practice meditation and spirituality according to the teachings of Sri Chinmoy.
Sri Chinmoy encouraged us to offer meditation classes and other spiritual events free of charge to the general public. He felt that meditating on the heart – the place where we can feel the core of our being – is the fastest way to get in contact with our inner divinity.
Meet our classgivers
Nirbhasa first began meditating over twenty years ago and has been offering classes on meditation and conscious living ever since. An electrician by trade, he is also an enthusiastic runner, having run many marathons and ultra-marathons.
Frequently asked questions
What style of meditation do you teach?
We teach the kind of meditation that our teacher Sri Chinmoy taught us: meditation on the heart centre, the place in the middle of our chest where we can feel the core of our existence. When we are inside our heart, we feel a tremendous sense of connection to the universe, a sense of well-being and connectedness to our fellow human beings.
All the practices of meditation we do – silent meditation, mantra, visualisations, music – all have this goal of connecting you to the heart.
What should I bring to classes?
You don’t need to bring any special equipment; light, loose-fitting clothes are good. Try to arrive a little early so you can settle in.
Is this religious?
No, this is not associated with any kind of religion, and people of all religions and none are welcome to come.
However, meditation on the heart centre is definitely a spiritual practice – it connects you with your own inner divinity.
How long are the courses?
Typically there are 4-6 classes once or twice a week, and each class is typically 70-90 minutes.
Will this type of meditation suit me?
If you have some feeling deep inside that you are looking for more inner peace, self discovery and self growth, then this kind of meditation might very well suit you.
Are the courses really free?
Yes. We feel that the peace that meditation can bring is everyone’s birthright, not a commercial commodity. For us, giving these classes is also an extension of our own spiritual practice – sharing the gift of meditation is a powerful way to keep our own practice alive and spontaneous.
Do I have to sit on the floor?
No, we do have chairs you can sit on. Of course, we also do have cushions, so you are welcome to try sitting on the floor too!
